ABOUT us
send me your shy outcasts
Petra’s home studio is a circus training space for bodies of all abilities, shapes, and identities in the heart of the alberta arts district.
Her mission is to foster students who thrive in a one-on-one environment and to give them a space to practice that’s private and supportive. Petra teaches circus skills, but more importantly she helps students develop their artistic voice by nourishing their creativity.
Growing up autistic with a non industry standard body type presented many challenges that she now hopes to alleviate for others. To sustain the values of her community, self respect and independence are intentionally woven into the curriculum. she strives to offer the training space she wished she had while honoring the legacy of those who taught her.
Petra has been a professional performer and instructor since 2008 and is founder and artistic director of prismagic.
A doggie-dog world
Bambi is a dalmatian sensible enough to let us know when someone is at the door. She greets people with friendly yelling and wiggling, but quickly recognizes that it is time for a lesson.
She is known for trying to get her tongue in your mouth while you’re warming up, balancing “salm” on your oversplits, chewing a bone that smells like a fart, and taking a nap because the circus is extremely boring.
Is that a snack in your bag, or are you just happy to see me???
